Residents might not have to say goodbye to their feline friend.
Council will re-visit the new cat restriction by-law after opposition from an Owen Sound resident.
Sylvia Moss met with Council last night and expressed her concerns.
Moss — who owns six cats — says she’s been fighting the Animal Control By-Law since it was first introduced fifteen years ago.
Moss says she feels pet owners should have control over the number of animals they are allowed to have.
Under the proposed new by-law, pet owners who have more than 3 unlicensed cats must get rid of them if a complaint is filed by neighbours.
A motion was put forth to review the by-law, and allow for public input.
Council voted 7-1 in favour of the motion — Councillor Tom Pink was the only one opposed.
