Hydro One delivered and now the ball is in the court of the Ontario Energy Board. The board gave the utility until last Thursday to come up with some two dozen years of historial information on the capacity of their lines that run out of Bruce Power in Tiverton. Hydro One spokesperson Danielle Gauvin says they delivered on time and now they wait for a decision from the OEB. Hydro One wants a news transmission route with new infrastructure from Bruce Power to Milton when two refurbished reactors at Bruce come back on line, scheduled for next year. Many affected landowners in Bruce County are challenging the need for a new transmission route and a lawyer representing the group has been quoted as saying history shows the current lines carried the same energy that is being proposed in 2009. It was suggested they were being refused archival information by Hydro One which led to the OEB ultimatum. Gauvin says although technical experts within Hydro One could give a more detailed answer, she says the short answer is the way electricity flowed and needs of 20 years ago have changed. She says it may appear that the needs are the same but she points out they have changed. It’s not known when the Ontario Energy Board will present its findings based on the material supplied by Hydro One.
