On Soundingboard today Harris Decima vice-president Jeff Walker says they are polling Canadians across the country on a daily basis.
Walker says the latest numbers show the Conservatives with 38% support, followed by the Liberals at 28%; NDP at 15%; Green Party at 11% and Bloc Quebecois at 8%.
He says in this election the results out of Quebec could be huge for the Conservatives.
Walker says the Bloc is not nearly as strong as it used to be in Quebec.
He says where the Bloc are weak, the Conservatives are gaining strength.
He says the polls show the Harper’s Conservatives have the potential to pick up 25 or 30 seats there.
Walker says if their results stayed exactly the same as last time throughout Canada, the Quebec wins would be enough to form a majority government.
However, he says, Ontario is still crucial to any government win particularly in what he calls the “battleground” ridings of Southwestern Ontario, which this time includes Huron Bruce.
Walker says Huron Bruce says the riding is pegged because there is no incumbent running this time.
