John Tory talked to Bayshore Broadcasting News this morning from the International Plowing Match in Teeswater.
Tory says he likes Murdoch and considers him a good man.
But Tory says the Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP has to follow the rules just as every other member of the Conservative caucus.
Tory says he can’t be running a team when a member misses meetings and then criticizes its leader.
Tory says if you have things to say in private — that is fine.
But Tory feels every member should be on the same page publicly — and that is something everyone has to do in every walk of life — from business to family to sports.
Murdoch says he’ll meet with the entire caucus to discuss his suspension but still thinks party leader John Tory should find a new job.
Murdoch wasn’t invited on the Progressive Conservative float at the opening parade today for the International Plowing Match.
Tory’s float was greeted with cries of `leave Murdoch alone’ and `back off Murdoch.’
In contrast, Murdoch was warmly greeted by the Liberal government caucus and was met with chants of `voice of the people’ as he rode alone on a fire truck.
Murdoch was suspended from the Conservative caucus last Friday for criticizing Tory in an interview with Bayshore Broadcasting News.
Murdoch said he has given up on Tory as a leader and there should be a leadership convention.
