The next phase is underway to determine what kind of special needs transportation is needed in Saugeen Shores.
Chair of the ad-hoc Transportation Committee Alice McLaren presented a report on the first phase to Council on Monday.
The first phase was to inform the public of the Committees objectives and to get a number of potential users.
Appearing with John Divinski on Soundingboard McLaren says they now want to establish a database with names and phone numbers to contact people.
She says the database will determine whether people qualify for special transportation based on their disability.
McLaren says it is too soon to tell when the service will be up and running..
She says there may be some partnerships down the road where they will be able to supply the proper transportation needs.
McLaren says it is also too soon to mention the cost of setting up a special needs transportation system.
She says until it is developed you may end up either be spending too much or not spending enough.
She suggests starting off slowly and taking their time to develop a good database.
McLaren says people can leave their contact information by phoning the Towns municipal offices or going to www.saugeenshores.ca.
