There is a new man in charge of Bruce Telecom.
Municipal Services Board Chair Richard Martin announced at last night’s Kincardine Council meeting that Michael Andrews will take over as President and CEO of the company effective this Monday.
Andrews is succeeding Hans Nilsson who retired as President and CEO back on April 30th.
Andrews has been in the telecommunications business for 30 years including being President and CEO of Amtelecom before coming to Bruce Telecom.
Martin says the combination of Andrews’ experience and expertise in the industry was the compelling factor in their decision to hire him.
He says Andrews was the right candidate that they need at this time in Bruce Telecom’s evolution.
Andrews says the company is well known for being progressive and doesn’t foresee any changes.
Andrews says Bruce Telecom is heading in the right direction as they get set to unveil their new mobile telephone service.
He says it is becoming an increasingly competitive market out there.
He says there are lots of challenges but there are also lots of opportunities that will benefit the company, its stakeholders, and the Municipality.
