It means some students won’t have to walk to school anymore.
High school students who live more than 3.2 kilometres away from their school will now have transportation provided for them.
The number before was 4.8 kilometres.
Superintendent of Business, Brenda Booth says the change is a minimal one and will cost the board 20 thousand dollars but that has already been budgeted for.
Booth says the change really only affects the high schools in Owen Sound.
The walking distances remain the same for elementary school students.
Junior Kindergarten students to Grade 6 will have transportation provided for them if they live more than 1.6 kilometres from the school.
Grade 7 and 8 elementary school students who live more than 3.2 kilometres away from their school will have transportation provided for them.
