There’s a new magazine focusing on local female residents.
It’s called “Grey Bruce Woman”, and it’s written by Claudia Staines.
The Fall 2008 issue is called “Women with Passion and Pride”.
Staines profiles almost two-dozen women in the magazine, from most of Grey
and Bruce Counties.
Staines says southern Grey County is the only area without a female
profiled, something she plans to address in future issues.
In addition to living in different locations throughout the region, the
women also range widely in age, with some in their teens, and others senior
citizens.
She says they’re not necessarily famous, with the most well-known being
Grace Lambe, or “Grandma Lambe”.
She says one thing the women have in common is a passion for what they do,
and following that passion in life.
Staines says that’s what make the women’s lives successful, and she adds
that none of the women defined success by monetary worth.
Staines says many “women-friendly” local advertisers stepped up to the plate
to make the magazine possible.
She says there is no charge for Grey Bruce Woman Magazine, and it’s
available across the region.
Staines hopes to have a second issue complete later this year.
