With the Bruce County Plowing Match in the books, it’s full steam ahead to the International Plowing Match in Teeswater.
On Soundingboard, IPM spokesperson Cheryl Leifso says the September 16th to 20th event is going to be huge.
Leifso says they expect some 80,000 visitors to the region and that could balloon to 100,000.
She says survey shows they will leave behind a staggering 20-million-dollars in economic benefits.
Leifso says the tented city is starting to take shape on the farm of Wayne and Wendy McKauge (mc-keg) in Teeswater with hydro pole sprouting up.
She says the tented city will cover about 100 acres but when you take in all the parking land and so forth, that increases to 1,000 acres of land in use for the event.
Advance tickets are on sale at various Foodlands in the region till Monday.
