There will be a new mountain bike park opening up in Inverhuron.
It is located off Albert Road and Richards Drive near Inverhuron Provincial Park and is scheduled to have a Grand Opening tomorrow at noon.
Kincardine Economic and Tourism Manager Steve Murray says the new bike park will have a number of different features including trails and dirt jumps.
He says two of their staff have been working diligently in building the park.
He says there will be enough of the park completed with signage posted in time for the opening.
Two young bike enthusiasts — Drew Otterman and Dave Melanson — had already built obstacles and ramps on that same location on municipal property.
They developed a proposal for a proper bike park and presented it to Council last year.
Murray says the Municipality is putting in $40,000 for the bike park.
He says there are three bike parks within Bruce County but none in the Municipality.
He says mountain bike parks are a huge tourism draw and hopes with the new park they can piggy-back on the other parks and create a loop of parks that people can come and visit.
In-kind donations or other financial support to the bike park can be made to the Municipality of Kincardine with Bike Park written on the cheque or note.
