There is a big celebration today at the Land Force Central Area Training Centre in Meaford.
Almost 500 soldiers from primary reserve units from across Ontario will graduate from their summer training program.
The graduation parade begins at one this afternoon but there is an open house for the public beginning at ten this morning.
Captain Jayson Geroux says they will have a number of displays and demonstrations.
You will be able to view demonstrations about small arms, winter warfare and even try your hand at a shooting range with blank ammunition.
Geroux says today is a very special day for the soldiers as they are badged into a regimental unit and it can’t be taken lightly.
He notes family and friends will be on hand as well as a number of political and military dignitaries.
Geroux expects about fifteen hundred people for the parade.
About three thousand soldiers have trained at the Meaford military training centre this summer.
