Staff have officially moved out of the old downtown location on 1st Avenue West, and today they’re busy setting up work stations at the new place.
Drew Ferguson, the Media Relations spokesperson for the Health Unit, says even with the little bit of chaos, there won’t be much of a blip in public services this week.
He says sexual health, dental, and vaccination clinics will be running as regularly scheduled out of the new clinic.
Ferguson says they hope to be able to add some more public clinics down the road, as they are equipped for it.
Ferguson says the move is going smoothly, as they’ve had six months of planning and co-ordinating the packing.
He says staff are reinvigorated and thrilled to be in the new place.
The new health unit building cost 15.4 million dollars and is located on the east side of the Owen Sound harbour, on 17th Street East.
