It will be a quiet AMO Conference for Bruce County.
They were hoping to meet with David Caplin — the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care — during the conference in Ottawa in regards to funding for seniors homes.
But CAO Wayne Jamieson says they received word that Caplin did not have sufficient time to meet with them.
Jamieson says they along with officials from Grey County will be meeting with Jim Bradley — the Minister of Transportation — on the idea of installing traffic lights at the intersection of Highway 21 and the Grey-Bruce Line in Alvanley.
Jamieson says the Wardens from the Southwestern Ontario area — including Bruce County Warden Milt McIver — will be gathering in Ottawa during AMO for their Caucus meeting.
He says they have identified a number of issues that want to discuss.
Jamieson says they want to speak with Sandra Pupetello — the Minister of Economic Development and Trade — on economic development initiatives for Southwestern Ontario.
He says they are also hoping to meet with Jim Watson — the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
The Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference starts tomorrow through until Wednesday.
