It’s a historical day for the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band.
The Pipe Band is celebrating a milestone this year — it’s 100th anniversary and today (SAT) is their 17th annual Mass Band Festival.
Drum Major Scott Telford says approximately 300 pipers and drummers from about 15 bands will play at Victoria Park.
Telford says the entertainment starts at noon and runs till midnight but the main attraction of the day is at 8 PM with the Saturday Night Parade along Queen Street
Telford says they hoping to have more than 300 drummers and piper take part in the parade to make it the biggest gathering in the history of the event.
The other bands participating include The Toronto All Star Band, the Kincardine Community Concert Band and Kincardine Strathspey and Reel Society.
This year’s special guest is the Scarborough Highland Creek Pipe Band, led by pipe major and former NHL goaltender Glenn Healy.
5 dollars today will get you all you can eat corn on the cob and hot dogs until 7 PM as well there will be other food vendors set up at Victoria Park.
