Canada’s 911 Ride Foundation will be stopping in the scenic city tomorrow.
President Dan Lawrence says the charity ride is to provide support for families of fallen police officers and firefighters and emergency services personnel.
Lawrence says they also provide financial support through education and/or trust funds for children who have been victims of violent crime or have lost a parent or parents due to violent crime.
The foundation is also a major contributor to the Mikey Network which provides free defibrillators to communities.
Lawrence says the two hundred riders are expected to arrive at the Heritage Place Mall in the Sears Parking lot around 1:30pm.
Lawrence says the Toronto Police’s Services “Winged Wheels” will be holding a precision motorcycle presentation and then the Foundation will be presenting two defibrillators.
One defibrillator will be donated to the Owen Sound Police Service and the other one is going to the City of Owen Sound.
Lawrence says this is the second year coming through Owen Sound and last year Mayor Ruth Lovell was upset she didn’t know they were coming through the city and wanted them back for this year.
