Georgian Bay Folk Society President Brenda Scott says some of the Maple Leaf meat products recently recalled by the company because of listeriosis were served at the Festival.
Scott believes none of the meat was served to the people who attended, but rather the performers and volunteers.
The meat was purchased from Flanagan Food Service and served at a post-festival event at the Travelodge Motel on Sunday night. (August 18)
It was also served to some volunteers on site at Summerfolk.
The Society is currently contacting all performers and volunteers directly to inform them of the possible exposure to the bacteria.
Scott says although the Society has had no reports of illness related to the situation, they have decided notify people as a precautionary measure.
