If you like antique tractors, the the dairy farm of Henry Reinders is the place to be on Saturday August 23rd.
That will be the site of this years Mervin Lush Antique Tractor Show, named after the founder of the show who died earlier this year.
Reinders says the proceeds of this years show will go towards funding the operation of the Bighead River Food Grain Bank.
He says last year about 40 antique tractors were displayed and he is hoping about 50 or so of the vintage vehicles will be on display.
Reinders says they also will have a threashing demonstration and their will be tours of his dairy farm operation.
He says many people will be surprised at how technology has changed the operation of a dairy farm.
Reinders says all the cows have computer chips on them so they are fed the proper amount of grain, and the milking parlour is fairly automated where basically all they do is put the milking unit on the cows.
He says when the milking is done, the unit is taken off automatically, the cows is released automatically and the next one is directed into the stall by the computer.
Reinders farm is on Grey Road 12 just past Grey Road 40, west of Meaford.
