Pumpkinfest organizers aim to bring more families to the event.
They are introducing a family pass for this year.
Organizer Lisa Irwin says the pass costs 20 dollars each and is available only until September 26th.
The pass allows a family of four — two adults and two children — to experience everything at Pumpkinfest this fall.
Irwin says they have three new attractions this year — a Peddles Entertainment Area featuring a clown college and a performance by Snoopy and Friends, the Twins Game Zone, and Patch’s Pumpkin Patch that will show people how to grow big pumpkins.
There have been reports of giant pumpkins being grown in the area.
But Irwin says many of the farmers are being very secretive as they prepare for Pumpkinfest.
She says with changes in the weigh-off, people should expect some big pumpkins throughout the event.
The 2008 Pumpkinfest goes October 4th and 5th in Port Elgin.
Family passes can be purchased at the Saugeen Shores Chamber of Commerce Office in Port Elgin and at the Southampton Visitor’s Centre.
