As the Kincardine Summer Music Festival moves into its second week of instruction and concerts, sponsors were recognized for the work they do.
A cocktail party was held in Kincardine on Thursday to salute the people who keep the festival afloat including 98 the Beach.
The festival’s jazz artistic director Alex Dean says the sponsors not only help with the concerts that are featured during the camp, but the camp itself.
Dean says without the sponsors, the festival would not be what it is today.
He says the festival camp and workshops have been terrific.
Dean says there’s been a good mix of younger and older kids, along with adults who have taken a week off to attend and learn.
He says his joy comes in helping all the kids but particularly the students who have that special knack and help them on their way to realize their musical dreams.
During this second week of the festival, the more classical side of music will be featured in the workshops and the concerts.
The camps conclude on Saturday, August 16th.
