The Service Canada Centres for Youth around the region will close their doors for the season today.
It’s the last day of operation for the offices in Owen Sound, Walkerton and Collingwood.
In Owen Sound — Youth Services Officer Jessica McGarry says they had a busy and successful summer.
Stats from the office show the two officers visited almost a thousand employers and posted more than 400 jobs.
While they don’t keep stats on the number of students who found jobs, McGarry says many of the jobs posted on the job bank website have been filled.
The two officers also conducted 400 one on one sessions with students about employment advice and helped 200 youth with resume workshops.
McGarry says this summer wasn’t actually as busy as previous years — so they spent more time in the community, trying to connect with students.
