The Ministry of Natural Resources has invested 6.8 million dollars in a summer jobs program for youth.
Spokesperson David Bauer says the funding has covered more than 71 thousand jobs for young people across Ontario.
The jobs are being held by high school students, post secondary school students and graduates and can last anywhere from 8 weeks to 10 months.
Bauer says the goal of the investment is to expose youth to potential careers in natural resource management.
Students are working in different jobs — including outdoor work restoring habitats, building camp sites, and working in parks.
Jobs have also been filled at Ontario Ranger camps on the Bruce Peninsula.
