Bruce-Grey-Owen-Sound MP Larry Miller hopes to meet with the federal finance minister first thing this morning at the Conservative caucus meeting in Quebec.
Miller says all the MPs are getting a chance to meet with various ministers at the summer refresher.
Miller says he’s very pleased with the agreement drawn up between his government and the Ontario government that will see 6.2 billion dollars infused into infrastructure.
He hopes to meet with Jim Flaherty to get a head start on nabbing some of that funding for road and sewer projects in the Grey-Bruce area.
Although getting to Flaherty is Miller’s priority, he says he hopes to meet with some other ministries to discuss issues in our region.
One of those is the Oceans and Fisheries Ministry.
Miller says there’s been much talk about the war in Afghanistan at caucus, but there hasn’t been much in the way of strategizing for an election.
He says even with Liberal Leader Stephane Dion’s recent announcement that fall would be a good time for a general election, most MPs he’s talked with don’t feel there will be an election this fall.
