A case of mistaken identity has landed a 42 year old man in Owen Sound hospital with serious injuries.
Police say the man was walking along 2nd Avenue near 10th Street East around 11:40 last night when he was accosted by a woman who’d been drinking.
The man tried to get away from the woman but she continued to verbally and physical assault him.
The woman eventually went to a nearby residence and gathered up a group of men to help her punch, kick and hit the man with a piece of wood.
He was also stabbed in the chest.
Eventually the victim was able to get a cab to take him to the hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition after surgery.
19 year old Shawn Dyer is facing two assault charges.
Police say more arrests are imminent.
