The Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound is over budget for the 2007 – 08 fiscal year.
The report highlighted some of the gallery’s past achievements, financial issues, and program costs.
The Gallery’s overall expenses increased by 24%, putting it about $12,500 over budget.
However, between sponsorships, memberships, admissions, fundraising and government grants, the gallery manages to bring in almost a million dollars in revenue.
Curator Stuart Reid says the gallery generates a lot of tourism in the Grey-Bruce region, as they see the most money made on admissions between Victoria Day and Labour Day.
Reid also brought up the idea of a possible expansion of the Tom Thomson Gallery to accommodate their growing collection.
He says it makes economic sense with a growing collection and an increase in visitors.
The Tom Thomson Art Gallery also saw changes in November when it launched a new look for the gallery — including a fresh logo, brochure and website.
