There is a precautionary drinking water notice in place for a subdivision of Sauble Beach.
The Ontario Clean Water Agency has stated in a news release the water for those on the Thomson Water system is NOT safe for human consumption or food preparation.
And boiling the water will NOT be enough of a precaution to reduce the levels of radium they found which are not within acceptable limits.
Until the all-clear is given — the municipality of South Bruce Peninsula will be providing water at the Sauble Beach Community Centre between 9 AM and 6 PM every day.
The water will be tested to ensure it is safe to drink prior to the notice being lifted.
