Southampton Music Camp director Cynthia Wilson says the week long day camp begins today.
Wilson says the camp objective is to give those a better handle on what’s already taught in the school system.
She says they get people from the ages of 5 to 95; as it’s not limited to a certain age group.
Many are from the Bruce and Grey region, however there are some campers who come from out of town to take part.
Wilson says beginners will get a lot out of their programs.
Musical Beginnings is created for 6 – 8 year olds to develop the basic skills of music through singing.
Instrumental Beginnings is a program for 8 – 11 year olds designed around percussion instruments and recorder.
Wilson says everyone beyond the beginner stage will take part in either choral or instrumental sessions.
There is still room for registration, until Monday before the start of camp at 9am.
Wilson says throughout the week, the campers will perform on top of learn.
The final concert is held at the Southampton Colliseum at 10 in the morning on Saturday.
