ATV operators are digging into their pockets to help refurbish the old CN RailĀ trestle bridge in Paisley.
The South Bruce Peninsula ATV Club is donating $2,000 and the Huron Shores ATV Club is donating $10,000.
The cheques were presented to Bruce County Council on Thursday during their Agriculture Tourism and Planning Committee meeting in Walkerton.
Executive Director of the Bruce Grey Trail Network Ray Gilbert says there are ATV users who don’t want to use County and Municipal roads to get around Paisley when there is a bridge that connects the two ends of the multi-use portion of the 80-kilometre railtrail.
Gilbert says the trail connection is also for those who walk, hike, and bike along the railtrail.
Gilbert says the two local ATV clubs have stepped up to the plate by putting in their membership money to make the restoration of the bridge possible.
He adds this is a major commitment for two clubs to make.
The bridge is located on Bruce Road 1 at the south end of Paisley.
