Another cyclist crossing the country this summer will be in the Grey Bruce area this weekend.
Ramesh Ferris will be at Wiarton’s Bluewater Park today at 5 PM for a stop on his Cycle to Walk campaign.
Ferris was stricken with polio as an infant, and is cycling across Canada on a hand pedalled bicycle to raise money and awareness.
Ferris left Victoria, B.C. on April 12th – the 53rd anniversary of the release of the Polio vaccine.
He says Polio remains a threat in many countries, and his trek is designed to help Rotary meet its goal of Polio eradication.
Ferris will wrap up his journey October 1st in Cape Spear, Newfoundland.
