Some 40 members of the Glenelg Property owners association recently met to plan their next steps in opposing the development by Harold Sutherland construction.
The company wants to haul 100 thousand tonnes of gravel out of the site over the next 20 years.
Among the concerns expressed by neighbours….. were dust, noise, and truck traffic in the rural area.
Grey county intermediate planner Scott Taylor tells Bayshore Broadcasting news, their concerns have been heard, but the project is still a ways off….
Taylor says the application by Harold Sutherland was put on hold by the company as it considers a private road on the site.
If that actually happens, he says they’ll need a lot further study.
Taylor says there is no formal time for neighbours to comment, since the application is on hold right now.
