It’s being called a “one-of-a-kind facility”.
Clinton’s Regional Equine and Agricultural Centre of Huron, or “REACH” has received 500-thousand dollars from the McGuinty government.
The commitment announced by Huron-Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell came at yesterday’s groundbreaking for the six-million dollar project.
The provincial contribution follows a previous infusion of 350-thousand dollars.
The REACH Centre will be the focus of equine and agricultural training for young people in Central Huron which has a tradition of producing top-grade trotting and pacing horses.
The education facility is due to open next January and the new arena should be complete by the spring of 2009.
