South Bruce is making arrangements to have the Brockton Family Health Team practice out of the Mildmay Medical Clinic.
A 10-year leasing agreement was passed at last night’s Council meeting that calls for the health team to pay 28 dollars a square foot in the first five years of the lease.
Administrator David Johnston says the final five years would see the health team pay 22 dollars a square foot.
He says the Province will be covering the cost of the rentals.
Johnston says the original agreement was for 3 years with the Province and 5 between the clinic and the health team but the Province agreed to extend it to 10.
He says the money will be used to cover the cost of operating the Mildmay Medical Clinic.
Johnston says the health team will be occupying just under half of the 43 hundred square foot clinic and adds that is good for the community.
He says they were looking over the plans of the building and decided on what areas are practical to them.
Johnston says it is nice to see these health care professionals come to Mildmay to help alleviate the workload from the local doctor.
