The 2008 International plowing match is less than two months away and officials looking for volunteers to ensure the Teeswater event goes off without a hitch.
IPM spokesperson Cheryl Leifso says they need volunteers from all across the region to help out in every venue of the plowing match.
She says they can let people know exactly what help is needed and people can talk about what their role might be before they sign up.
Leifso says there will be two sessions where potential volunteers can meet with our committee members to talk one on one in a “come and go” environment.
Those sessions will take place Saturday July 26th between 10am and 2pm at The Heritage Farm, south of Paisley just off of Bruce County Road 3 or Wednesday July 30th, 7 to 9pm at the Teeswater Community Centre.
Leifso also says the IPM is working with local Sobeys stores so people can pick up advance tickets for the event at those locations.
She says purchasing tickets head of time means a saving of five dollars rather than buying them at the gate during the event.
Leifso also says there is a deadline approaching for people to enter the Antique farm equipment display.
She says organizers want to know by August 1st who will be part of that event.
