After two years of planning the Old Boy’s and Girls Reunion in Kincardine is almost ready to go.
The planning committee expects 30,000 people to take in the vast array of events over the July 31st weekend.
With the influx of people expected, comes security concerns.
Committee Chair Laura Haight says with a number of venues offering alcohol she isn’t to worried about security concerns at this point because of some precautions they have taken.
She says they have spent $20,000 on private security.
She couldn’t say how much increased police services would cost, but they expect to have a heavy presence — which will undoubtedly come with an heavy price tag.
Haight says there will be bus services available to take people the different events at a small cost of $5 for the entire weekend.
Haight says as far as planning goes for the event, they’re now just working out a few final details.
She says it’s now just doting the I’s and crossing the T’s.
