The 13th annual Jeff Preston Celebrity Golf Classic was staged yesterday at Saugeen Golf Club in Port Elgin.
A cheque for $ 25,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Research was presented at the end of the proceedings.
The tournament is named for Saugeen Shores resident Jeff Preston who has been a tireless campaigner for Muscular Dystrophy Research.
Now in his mid-20’s, Preston is extremely grateful for the continual support the tournament and the fundraiser generates.
Over 13 years, the tournament and matching grants have generated $ 968,000 and organizers truly hope they can top the $ 1 million mark in July of 2009.
