A home invasion in Chesley.
South Bruce OPP Constable Kevin Martin tells Bayshore Broadcasting News two men armed with a rifle stormed into a home on 1st Avenue South around 5:30 PM on Wednesday.
Martin says although a rifle was brandished — there were no shots fired.
Martin says two men forced their way into the home and assaulted the home owner.
During the assault, Martin does confirm a firearm was brandished before the suspects fled the residence.
That led to a unsuccessful Police search involving South Bruce OPP, the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and the OPP Canine Unit.
Martin says the home owner was treated for minor injuries.
The investigation is on-going and Martin says there’s no threat to public safety because it is an isolated incident.
