Saugeen Shores Fire Chief Phil Eagleson is getting more money in his budget.
Council has added the 23 thousand dollars Eagleson and the fire department earned during work at G8 Summit in Huntsville in the summer.
Eagleson explains he wants the money to be put towards equipment and training to better serve the rural residents of Saugeen Shores.
He says the idea of where to put the money came from those who worked the G8 in Huntsville.
Eagleson says Huntsville does not have fire hydrants in its community which adds extra challenges to fighting fire there.
He says the same holds true for some rural residents of the municipality and that’s why he wants the money directed at improving that service.
