The Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health has changed her mind.
Doctor Hazel Lynn tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the health unit is definitely looking at a wind turbine impact study.
Doctor Lynn says she will tell the Board of Heath next month that they will try to do a complete survey with their small population base to see what the problem is with wind turbines and their relationship to people who live nearby.
Doctor Lynn says after some extensive reading she believes now, there is some biological plausibility that people are disturbed, not by 40 decibels of sound from the turbines, but from infra-sound.
She says the results are consistent throughout the world.
As people get within a kilometre of wind turbines, complaints start to rise.
Doctor Lynn says they don’t have a cost factor on such a study but it could be as high as 250 thousand dollars.
That cost estimate will go to the January meeting of the Grey Bruce Health Unit board.
