The provincially-mandated Parent Involvement Committee is looking for help.
Chair Jim Thorpe says each of the four geographical quadrants of the board’s jurisdiction should have four members each.
He says some has as few as one and others are losing members because they have been elected trustees to the board.
Thorpe says if anyone is interested in serving on this liaison committee between the board the school community councils, school and home associations, they should contact the principal in the school in their area.
Thorpe says the committee’s principal goal is to encourage and assist effective parent involvement in their children’s education, with their school and with the education system.
