New owners have taken over the Owen Sound Marina and are planning upgrades for the spring.
Business Manager Peter Van Dolder says he and four other business-types bought the property this fall from a receiver, however he declined to say for how much.
Van Dolder says the operation went into receivership about a year ago.
Included in the package is the former “Rusty Gull” restaurant.
Van Dolder says they are looking to lease that out and have someone run it as a restaurant starting in the spring.
He claims there has been some interest expressed but no deal has been worked out.
At the same time, Van Dolder says the west-side property would lend itself well to condos on the waterfront.
The group hopes to make a presentation to city council early in the new year and could possibly get construction going in 2011.
At this point, Van Dolder says they have not determined how many units would be in the approximately six acre development.
