Good news for skaters.
The outdoor skating rink at Harrison Park in Owen Sound is now open.
Director of Community Services Pam Coulter says with more seasonal colder weather forecast, City staff have been working hard to prepare the ice surface for skating.
Although the Order of Good Cheer Outdoor Rink is open, Coulter says there are guidelines for using it.
Hockey is allowed on ODD calendar days, while skating is allowed on all EVEN numbered days.
Owen Sound requires that all appropriate protective equipment is worn when using this facility.
Coulter says the outdoor rink supports the goals of the Citys Strategic Plan and of the PLAY in Bruce Grey strategy to provide accessible, low cost activities for residents of Bruce and Grey Counties.
