The Bluewater District School Board is off and running after the new board elected a chair and a vice-chair.
It was part of the inaugural meeting of the public board on Tuesday night.
10-year Owen Sound trustee Marg Gaviller is chair for the first time in her public career.
Gaviller says one of her main issues will be transparency and communication.
She hopes to see a two-way street of dialogue between the board and the parents of school children.
Gaviller says it’s time to move forward.
Meanwhile, West Grey and Hanover trustee John Chapman returns to vice-chair, a position he has held in the past.
Chapman says it’s not profound but it’s all about the kids.
He says if that focus is kept and they will be doing the right thing.
