The new Hanover Council has been sworn in.
Mayor Kathy Maskell is looking forward to a bright and promising future for Hanover.
Maskell says for the first time ever, council will have a road map to help make this happen — the town’s new strategic plan.
She expects the next four years to be filled with both successes and challenges.
On the plus side — Maskell says Hanover’s 7th Avenue big dig project is almost complete and the water treatment plant expansion project will wrap up this Spring.
Maskell adds Hanover will soon have a high tech edge over many communities as it prepares to welcome fibre optics.
Youth will remain another priority for Hanover.
Maskell says great gains have been made to make Hanover a more youth friendly community, but more needs to be done.
The only new face on council is retired high school teacher Ed King.
King is joined by councillors Peter Hambly, Selwyn Hicks, Rick Hopkins, Sue Paterson and Deputy Mayor Bob White.
