After seven years on the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board, trustee Sam Finnie has bid his final adieu.
Finnie chose not to run in the October election due to family commitments.
For Finnie saying goodbye isn’t easy and he hints he may try to come back at some point in time.
Finnie says the last two terms have been filled with glowing achievements.
He is particularly pleased with the large number of capital projects that have taken place, such as the additions at St. Mary’s high school in Owen Sound and St. Peter’s and Paul’s elementary school.
Finnie says the implementation of the full day learning program is also a success story.
Finnie has some words of advice to his successor Lori DiCastri.
Finnie says she should enjoy the opportunity she has been given and always keep an open ear to parents and students.
Finnie says DiCastri also needs to keep an open mind and network when possible with other school boards in an attempt to discover new ideas and solutions.
Finnie is the only trustee to say goodbye at the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board, all of the other trustees were acclaimed.
New trustee Lori DiCastri was also acclaimed.
