The Township of Chatsworth is celebrating the re-opening of the Williamsford Community Centre today.
The project has been completed with help from the Federal and Provincial levels of government with each contributing 250 thousand dollars through the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund program.
The Township contributed the balance of the total project cost of 750 thousand dollars.
The new community centre project includes accessibility retrofits, and expansion of the community hall and curling rink.
In addition, a 25 thousand dollar Trillium grant was announced to outfit the new kitchen with new appliances and kitchen equipment that meets current Health and Safety Standards.
The community centre had to be rebuilt after it was condemned in 2008.
The Lions Club will be using the new facility for many of its fundraising functions.
