An Owen Sound man has just returned from Rhode Island, where he received the controversial MS liberation treatment.
Warren Bazinet received the procedure on Monday and says his treatment at the clinic was great.
The operation was about an hour long and he was only at the clinic for about four hours.
Along with getting the proceedure done, Bazinet decided to quit smoking.
Bazinet tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he feels great, has more energy and even tried a bit of Yoga training with his wife, something he hasn’t done in years.
Bazinet doesn’t know whether the fact he has quit smoking, or whether it is the liberation treatment — or both — that have given him more energy.
He believes it is a combination of the two factors.
Bazinet was the head of the MS walk in Owen Sound for the last few years.
He resigned and split from the organization over it’s stance about the procedure.
The Owen Sound man feels he had little choice, since the disease has been getting progressively worse.
Bazinet tells us he was aware of the death of St. Catherines man in Costa Rica who had undergone the MS liberation treatment earlier this year — and he considered it.
He maintains his situation is somewhat different from the man who recently died because he feels he has a doctor locally who will do follow-up treatments if necessary, something the St. Catherine’s man did not have.
