West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound showed off their three new technology areas on Tuesday.
The School’s Machine Shop showcased the 55 thousand dollars worth of equipment donated from Kuhl Machine Shop.
President Dave Kuhl says the old equipment from the late 1950’s needed to be replaced, so his company was happy to fill a need.
Machine Shop Teacher Tim Wise says before the donation, students were working on equipment that’s not even used in the workplace anymore.
West Hill’s new Hairdressing High Skills Major and Drafting programs’ were also showcased.
Principal Dan Hobler says they opened their school up because it’s Experiential Learning week, and they wanted to show-off renovations done to their shops over the summer.
A big renovation came in their Hairdressing High Skills Major program.
Hobler says the class use to be in a portable and now it’s much more efficient and usable as its own shop.
And they also had to renovate their Drafting room to put some higher end technology in.
