There are still over 400 homes and businesses in Owen Sound without Bell Canada telephone service this morning.
Bell Communications Officer Norma Hughes Howard tells Bayshore Broadcasting News they have restored service to about 80 per cent of customers.
And She notes that includes about 98 per cent of the downtown core.
Hughes Howard says they had hoped to make more progress but the wet weather and last night’s thunderstorm hampered their work.
She hopes today will be the last day for the outage.
Hughes Howard says their five member crew is also exhausted from working around the clock since Friday.
About two thousand homes and businesses lost telephone service after a cable under the 9th Street bridge was severed on Friday morning.
