Help a family in need this season by donating your old winter coats.
The United Way of Bruce Grey has joined the Douglas Cleaners’ Winter Coat Drive in Owen Sound by collecting coats — not only for kids but adults too.
Executive Director of the United Way Francesca Dobbyn says the need for winter coats is more common then people think.
Dobbyn also says recycling old clothes is the best way to clean out your closets and help other families.
But it’s not just coats — the United Way is also looking for good condition mitts, hats, socks and especially winter boots.
Only coats should be dropped off at Marks Work Wearhouse or at Douglas Cleaners — where minor repairs will be done and the coats cleaned.
Everything else can be dropped off at the United Way office in Owen Sound.
The coats will be distributed after the Santa Claus Parade this Saturday at 1 PM at Douglas Cleaners.
This isn’t just a one-time event — coats and specialty items such as formal wear, suits and long gowns can be dropped of year round at Douglas Cleaners.
