South Bruce OPP are reminding area residents to review bicycle safety with their kids following a crash in Walkerton.
Officers received a report about an accident involving a bike and a truck near the intersection of Durham Street East and Peter Street North last Friday.
Police say the bike rider left the sidewalk and entered the roadway in the path of an oncoming pickup truck.
The young male was taken to South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
South Bruce OPP are reminding cyclists — especially youth — to always wear a helmet when riding, be aware of motor vehicles on the road, and that you are required by law to have a bell or horn installed on your bike.
