The Fire Prevention Officer for Saugeen Shores recognized the grade three class at North Port Elementary School today.
Jeff Dahms says earlier this year, they visited all the grade three classes in Saugeen Shores to teach them about making escape plans in case there’s ever a fire.
He says it’s part of the Great Escape plan by the Ontario Fire Marshall’s Office.
Dahms says children absorb the information like a sponge, and go home and share with parents.
Dahms says the students had to create their own escape plans, and his office has finished reviewing all of them.
Dahms says all of the plans were very well thought-out, and well-done … but the Grade 3’s at North Port Elementary really stood out.
That class was awarded with a pizza party this afternoon with the Saugeen Shores fire department, and Sparky the dog.
